Hannah Ferguson decided at 10 years old , during a school excursion to Canberra, that one day she would become Prime Minister.
After high-school, Hannah moved to Brisbane to pursue a law degree, not because she was particularly interested in becoming a lawyer, but because it seemed like the thing that smart people with good marks did.
Hannah’s first ‘big-girl’ job was at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, where she became completely disillusioned by Australia’s justice system.
In November 2020, at just 22 years of age, Hannah co-founded Cheek Media; an independent, digital media company. Cheek Media is designed to engage audiences, especially youth, in meaningful and nuanced discourse, hoping to shift the media landscape.
In 2023, Hannah launched Big Small Talk, a weekly podcast that she co-hosts, which aimed to cover the entirety of the news cycle.
Hannah is the author of two best-selling books, Bite Back: Feminism, Media, Politics, and Our Power to Change it All, and Taboo: Conversations We Never Had About Sex, Body Image, Work and Relationships.
An influential voice for young Australian voters in the 2025 election, Hannah was invited to deliver the National Press Club address following election result.
