Maggie Dent, ‘queen of common sense’, grew up in rural WA, loud, opinionated and smart.
Initially attending university with the goal of journalism or law, Maggie transferred into teaching, realising that being there for vulnerable teenagers was where her passion lay.
Maggie spent almost two decades as a secondary teacher, raising four boys of her own, before moving to counselling, and working in palliative care and suicide prevention.
Maggie realised that working with parents had the biggest impact on children’s lives and began writing what she knew and soon became a voice of expertise in the parenting space.
Maggie is the author of 10 major books, several e-books, and the creator of a plethora of resources for all those in contact with kids and teens.
Maggie is the host of podcasts The Good Enough Dad and Parental As Anything and has had a pivotal role in shaping families and communities across the world.
