Mary Fowler is so much more than soccer.
Born on Valentine’s Day in 2003, Mary grew up playing soccer with her four siblings in Cairns.
Mary was selected to play for the Queensland state under 12’s team at only 10 years old, and by 15, Mary was named in the Young Matildas under-20s team. Mary became the fifth youngest player to ever debut for the Matildas.
On her 17th birthday, Mary moved to France to play for Montpellier HSC, where she remained until signing with Manchester City in June 2022.
Mary has played in two Olympic Games as a part of the Matildas team, in Tokyo and Paris.
Perhaps most famously, Mary was an invaluable team member during the 2023 FIFA World Cup where the Matildas had the highest-ever finish of any Australian senior soccer team.
Mary has also published Bloom, an exploration of her self and the experiences which have made her who she is.
