Joe Brumm, in 7-minute instalments, is responsible for the laughter and joy of millions of people around the world. As the number one streamed television series of all time, in 2025 Bluey was watched in the US for a total of 45.2 billion minutes.

Growing up in Queensland, Joe graduated with a Bachelor of Animation in 1998, before spending over 10 years in the UK working as a lead animator on successful children’s shows such as Charlie and Lola and Pepper Pig.

In 2009, after moving back to Brisbane and founding his own animation studio, Studio Joho, Joe began collating his team, and the pilot of Bluey was launched in 2016.

Based on Joe’s experience raising his two daughters, Bluey centres around a family of Blue Healers, modelling the importance of play through both the kid’s and adult’s interactions with the world around them.

Picking up funding from the ABC and CBeebies, Bluey launched in 2018 to huge success. Critically acclaimed, including receiving AACTA Awards, a Logie and Emmys, Bluey hit the hearts and minds of an entire generation of parents and children.
