GUEST

Shane Jacobson

Shane Jacobson’s overnight success was years in the making.

Growing up in the Western suburbs, there were two things that Shane lived for: performing and being a part of an organisation or committee of some sort.

Before Shane was plunged into the bright lights of Hollywood, he worked a plethora of jobs including a credit card fraud investigator, sales rep for a dentistry company, fireworks aficionado (for clients such as Bon Jovi, AC/DC, Prince, and the MCG), comedy warm up guy, and lighting technician.

In 2006, Kenny, a mockumentary about Kenny, a porta-potty guru was written and directed by Shane’s brother Clayton, staring Shane as Kenny. This role propelled Shane to international stardom, as he picked up an AFI for Best Actor in a Leading Role, up against Heath Ledger, Gabriel Byrne and Steve Le Marquand.

Shane would go on to appear in feature films such as The Bourne Legacy, Oddball, The Dressmaker, The Ladies in Black, as well as stage productions such as Hairspray, The Rocky Horror Show, Shane Warne – The Musical, and Guys and Dolls, for which he won a Helpmann Award for Best Male in a Supporting Role.

Shane has numerous credits as an author, presenter, signer, and producer, and most significantly has been an ambassador to an incredible amount of causes close to his heart including The Mirabel Foundation, HeartKids Australia and Scouts Victoria.
