Tim Minchin

Tim Minchin actually needs no introduction but if you would still like one, he is a composer, musician, comedian, actor, and writer known for his sharp wit, catchy tunes, and satirical humour.

Despite his enormous success, Tim initially had trouble finding support early in his career and survived playing keyboard for Melbourne cover-band, The Sea Monkeys, and piano for solo artists like Eddie Perfect.

But everything changed in 2005 after a successful run at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Tim won the Perrier Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Festival and launched a trail-blazing career. Best known for combining stand-up comedy with live musical performances, Tim’s work has garnered a massive following around the world, resulting years of sell out live shows at the world’s biggest venues, DVDs, multiple albums, and the Tony Award-winning musical Matilda, based on Roald Dahl’s classic book.

Tim is also Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his significant service to the performing arts, and the community.

On top of all of this, Tim married his university sweetheart, Sarah and they now have two children Violet and Caspar.
