A five-time-ARIA-winning legend of the Australian music industry, Dan Sultan is an Eastern Arrernte and Gurindji singer songwriter who grew up in Fitzroy, Melbourne.
Dan started writing songs when he was 10, and as a teenager played open mic nights in pubs. At 22 he was given an opportunity to release his debut album, Homemade Biscuits. Since then, his music has only gained more popularity.
Dan’s second album Get Out While You Can reached number one on the independent Australian charts and in 2010 won him ARIAs for Best Male Artist and Best Blues and Roots Album.
In 2009, Dan also made his screen debut in the film Bran Nue Day, alongside Jessica Mauboy, Magda Szubanski, Missy Higgins, Deborah Mailman and Geoffrey Rush
Dan has released a series of albums, Blackbird, Killer, Aviary Takes, Dan Sultan, and Nali and Friends, the latter of which won an ARIA Music Award for Best Children’s Album in 2019.
